Information about the Annual STUDY CANADA Summer Institute
- Earn 3 university quarter credits (C/AM 410 - WWU) or 40 clock hours as you learn about B.C., Canada, and the Olympic tradition in a comfortable classroom setting from government officials, tribal leaders, and university faculty.
- Banish stereotypes and meet real Canadians while exploring two of Canada's most beautiful, cosmopolitan and environmentally-sustainable cities.
- Experience Canada's culture, history and environment during an urban walking tour of Vancouver, a historical carriage tour through Stanley Park, a visit to the Squamish Nation Longhouse, a tour of the Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre, and a Tree Trek ecotour on foot or by zipline in Whistler.
- Witness the legacies of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games through site tours and presentations.
- Receive useful resources daily that help bring Canada to your classroom.
- Return home with lesson plans on Canada that meet NCSS standards.
Registration Information
Registration Fee (REDUCED): $500
NB: Full payment is due with registration. (Scholarships are available)
Registration deadline: May 1, 2010
(rolling registration to a maximum of 20 people).
The $500 cost includes tuition, housing, breakfasts and round-trip Vancouver-Whistler transportation.

*A special grant from the Government of Canada subsidizes participant costs so that tuition/clock hours, round-trip Vancouver-Whistler transportation, accommodations, daily breakfasts, two receptions and entry fees for most activities are included. Transportation to/from Vancouver, Canada is not included.

Accommodations: Deluxe rooms have 2D/Q beds, assigned to 2 same-gendered participants.
Supplemental Fees: Private rooms require a $400 supplemental fee (50% of
room cost). Companions are welcome to attend events and activities but must pay their own
entry fees and a $500 supplemental fee that includes round-trip Vancouver-Whistler
transportation, daily breakfasts and receptions.
